Morristown artist auctions works of art for children at CASA

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for Morris and Sussex Counties
and local artist Mariah Ringhoff raise funds to support children in foster care

Sunday, September 12, 2021, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for Morris and Sussex Counties and local artist from New Jersey Mariah ringhoff held an art auction at the Roxiticus Golf Club in Mendham.

Over 140 friends and supporters have come together to bid on 54 original works by Ringhoff. One hundred percent of funds raised support CASA in its mission to defend the interests of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment.

“We were honored to be able to partner with the very talented Mariah whose works resonate with many,” said Lisa Firkser, CASA Executive Director for Morris and Sussex Counties.

Ringhoff, an artist based in Morristown, donates her work exclusively to raise funds for nonprofits in the area.

“To celebrate my 50th birthday, I am dedicating my year’s work of 54 paintings to supporting children on their journey to a safe, loving and permanent home. “

In addition to advocacy and mentoring, CASA provides essential items such as laptops, bicycles, school supplies, and birthday and holiday gifts to ensure children in the foster care system benefit from the benefits. usual features of childhood.

CASA ensures that these vulnerable children receive all the medical and educational support they need to heal and thrive.

The guests were moved and punctuated by the live music of the Kings of the show and The Flukes ukulele trio, as auction wars ensued over the paintings, with last-minute offers online from supporters across the country.

The Flukes and Niccolò Orsolani, who led the guests into the exhibition hall with his modern dance performance, graciously offered his services to this important cause. The place was adorned with flowers donated by Doug the Florist of Mendham.

Those who were unable to bring home an original painting were able to purchase a pack of 10 blank note cards containing five of the artist’s paintings. These note cards are still available for purchase at www.casamsc.org. Tax deductible donations are also welcome to support this important cause.

CASA of Morris and Sussex Counties is part of a statewide network of community-based, nonprofit programs that recruit, select, train and supervise volunteers to “Change a Child’s Story” . These children have been taken from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment.
