DBN collaborates with MOE + Art Architecture, ADD.apt on sustainability and local content labs

As part of its mandate to bridge the gap in business and infrastructure finance in Nigeria, the Development Bank of Nigeria Plc (DBN) announced a collaborative initiative with MOE + Art Architecture and ADD.apt on the projection of materials laboratory programs in Nigeria.

The project, launched yesterday in Lagos, is an advocacy initiative on sustainability, particularly those relating to waste management and reduction. This will basically focus on how to study and develop local and sustainable materials for the Nigerian design and construction industry.

In addition, the project will showcase innovative and sustainable indigenous Nigerian materials as a development opportunity in the design and construction industry. It will also create a platform for collaboration between communities and stakeholders, an inherently unique experience that encourages knowledge sharing, information, and content development that lends itself to research and evolving issues. sustainability in Nigeria and beyond.

According to the organizers, they hope the workshop will raise awareness among the public to create a sequel for future exhibits, educate attendees on current issues that informed the project as well as enlighten attendees on the potential of material exploration. sustainable.

Speaking on the partnership, the Managing Director of the Development Bank of Nigeria Plc, Tony Okpanachi, said: “DBN is focused on driving sustainable economic growth. Therefore, we will continue to partner with like-minded minds to explore and propose solutions to the challenges that align with our three-pronged mandate of providing access to finance to underserved micro, small and medium enterprises in Nigeria, partial credit guarantee and to deploy capacity building initiatives for PFIs and MSMEs. We are particularly excited by the research work carried out by our partners MOE + Art Architecture and ADD.apt and therefore call on all Nigerians to take this opportunity to stimulate innovation in the construction sector ”.

MOE + Art Architecture is an architecture and design firm with over 20 years of experience in strategic and innovative design and value-driven implementation and delivery with a strong affiliation with art and the new ever-expanding African creative sector. While ADD.apt focuses on architecture, design and data solutions and provides a bridge between architecture and environmentalism that aims to initiate and activate cultural change in living systems.

DBN is a wholesale development finance institution, established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in collaboration with global development partners (World Bank, AfDB, KfW, AFD and EIB) to address key financing challenges faced by micro, small and medium enterprises. (MSME) in Nigeria.
