Frederick Arts Council Announces Hood College Ceramic Arts MFA Faculty and Student Exhibit

Ceramic exhibition at 11 West Patrick Street Gallery

FREDERIC, Md., January 27, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — The Frederick Arts Council Announces the Cowl College Ceramic Arts MFA Faculty and Student Exhibition, an exhibit featuring ceramic works by eight artists, including faculty and graduate students from Frederick County ceramics graduate program at Cowl College. Artists include faculty members Chaz Martinsen, Jenna Gianni, Jason Laney as well as graduate students Clarisse Yeap, Asma Wahid, Shari Jacobs, Faith Ku, Leslie KingAmnah Abdulsalam, and Catalina Chiquillo.

The exhibition will continue until May.

Biographies of the artists:

  • Chaz MartinsenFaculty – Chaz MartinsenMFA, is Visiting Assistant Professor of Ceramics and Acting Director of the Graduate Program in Ceramic Arts at Cowl College, Frederick, MD.

  • Jenna GianniFaculty – Jenna GianniMFA, is Adjunct Professor of Ceramics at Cowl College and is co-owner and director of education at Washington Street Studios in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Instagram: @jennagianni; Website: jennalynnstudios.com

  • Jason LaneyFaculty – Jason LaneyMFA, is Adjunct Professor of Ceramics at Cowl College, Frederick, MD.

  • Clarisse YeapGraduate student – Clarisse Yeap currently pursuing a Masters in Ceramic Arts at Cowl Collegeafter many years of developing skills and interests in the community studios of the washington d.c. region.   • Asma WahedGraduate Student – Asma is a Pakistani-American artist and mother of four living in Ellicott City, Maryland and is currently pursuing a Masters in Ceramics at Cowl College. Instagram: @asmawaheedart

  • Shari JacobsGraduate student – Shari Jacobs taught ceramics at the Arts Center of Orange, Washington Street Studios in Harper’s Ferryand Woodberry Forest School. Cowl College MFA Ceramic Arts
Hood’s MFA program prepares students to bring original knowledge and creativity to the field of ceramics.
