John Urry is Distinguished Professor and Director of the Centre for Mobilities Research, Department of Sociology, Lancaster University.

He is noted for his work in the sociology of tourism and mobility, and has written about many aspects of modern society. John will be talking about the interdependency of the development of tourism, photography, and our visual representations of the contemporary world.
