| On Saturday 16th & 30th of October, and 13th November Storey Gallery is delivering 3 special Talks on Art events which relate directly to the current exhibition, Uncertainty in the City: Pests, Pets, and Prey, by the artists Snæbjörnsdóttir/Wilson. These talks will take place between 2 and 4:30pm and will cover various human/animal issues raised in the exhibition. |

Animals in proximity and the broken skin: Mice, rats, moles, bats and bugs Led by Dr Erica Fudge
Dr Erica Fudge is a Reader and lecturer at the School of Humanities and Cultural Studies, University of Middlesex. Erica is the author of Animal, 2002, and was until recently leader of the London-based British Animal Studies Network. Erica will discuss the fragility of our perceived separation from other species and lead the conversation about the contradictions and anxieties that are fostered when such insulation is threatened or breached.

The wild and the cultivated and schisms in paradise-imaging: Raptors, pigeons, the feral, and the fancied Led by Dr Chris Wilbert
Chris Wilbert is senior lecturer in Tourism and Geography at Anglia Ruskin University. Chris is also the co-editor of Animal Spaces, Beastly Places, 2000. As an environmental geographer, Chris has particular interest in how places are used, and how the sharing and entanglements of spaces with 'others' is perceived and managed. The discussion will allow the audience to explore the difficulties and opportunities arising from the idea of contested space.

The desirable neighbour and the threat of the new: Red squirrel, grey squirrel, and Pandora's box Led by Dr Peter Lurz
Dr Peter Lurz is a Research Associate at the School of Biology, Newcastle University, and specialist in the observation of and relationship between red and grey squirrel populations in the UK. The discussion will draw on ideas of the alien, the indigenous, and of the nationhood and sustainability, in relation to human and non-human cohabitation.
